Local artist John Bagley started his jewelry career over 30 years ago inspired by Native American Indian artifacts. John has a graduate degree in Anthropology and has worked with native tribes in Southeast Asia.

While studding Anthropology, he became fascinated with the ancient traditions of bodily adornment and its relation to the expressions of an individual’s personal identity and their universe.

The strength of John Bagley’s collections came from the relentless desire to capture the magic and spontaneous excitement of nature. His early creations reflected his desert and mountain wonderings, his desire to connect with nature. They were made of objects of nature: bone, stone, and feather – totemic pieces worn to capture the power of the spirit. Later he developed a strong interest for ancient technique of inlaying stone into metal. His inlay collections in 18k yellow gold and sterling silver are one of the highlights at Sausalito Jewelers.

At a young age Toby Pomeroy lived in the foothills of the Himalayas and was surrounded by native artisans that would create stunning pieces of art by harmonizing simple tools, bare hands and imagination. Inspired by these craftspeople and touched by the natural beauty of the environment, he became fascinated with nature-influenced design.

Toby Pomeroy's art has always drawn upon global influences and principles of sustainability. Conflicted by the intolerable impacts of conventional precious metals mining, Toby asked the nation's largest gold supplier and refiner if they would provide pure gold and silver derived entirely from reclaimed sources. They agreed, and this ground-breaking initiative became Toby Pomeroy's source for 100% reclaimed gold and silver.

Nowadays Toby is best known for his creations exclusively from EcoGold and EcoSilver, supporting the restoration and preservation of precious water supplies, native lands and wildlife around the world.

His creations feature simple and delicate styles with a hint of sophistication that is suited for everyone.
